"One Piece's Next Set Doesn't Street Until November 20 -- a Final Fantasy Artist's Reprint of Loki Is Already Presale-Listed at $2,000"
One Piece Card Game's eighteenth main set, "The Dominance of God" (OP-18), doesn't officially street until November 20 -- both English and Japanese versions release the same day. That's more than a month out as of this writing, but TCGplayer already has presale listings live for the full set, and the numbers are telling a very specific story: a guest-artist collaboration, not gameplay, is driving the early money.

The headline reason to care about OP-18: Final Fantasy artist Yoshitaka Amano painted new alternate-art illustrations for two Secret Rares in the set. One is Loki, a reprint of OP17-119 (the same Giant/Elbaph character that was already a $50-plus chase card from August's "World's Strongest Warriors"), now wearing Amano's artwork instead of the original art. The other is Saint Shamrock, a brand-new black Secret Rare Celestial Dragon character debuting in this set. Sources covering the reveal are explicit that this is not a Final Fantasy crossover -- it's one artist lending his style to two One Piece cards -- and they point to Amano's earlier alternate art for Liliana, Dreadhorde General in Magic's War of the Spark as the closest precedent for how collectors tend to treat these.
No OP-18 product images exist yet anywhere, including on TCGplayer itself -- that's normal for a set over a month from release -- so the gallery above shows the existing OP17 printing of Loki and a same-character DON!! card for visual reference while the table below carries the actual OP-18 presale numbers.
| Card / Product | Set | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Loki (Alt Art) -- original OP17 print | OP17 | $50.45 |
| Loki (OP17-119, Alt Art) -- Amano reprint | OP18 presale | $1,999.99 |
| Saint Shamrock -- base Secret Rare | OP18 presale | $99.99 |
| Saint Shamrock (Alt Art) -- Amano art | OP18 presale | $1,999.99 |
| Franky -- new Leader | OP18 presale | $9.99 |
| Booster Box | OP18 presale | $359.79 |
| Booster Box Case (12 boxes) | OP18 presale | $4,499.50 |
| Booster Pack (single) | OP18 presale | $24.95 |
| Double Pack Set Vol. 13 | OP18 presale | $69.99 |
The Loki number is the one to actually sit with. The exact same card -- same OP17-119 print number, same stats, same character -- is trading at $50.45 in its original OP17 printing and listed at $1,999.99 for the Amano reprint. That's roughly a 40x gap for new art on an identical card, and it has nothing to do with how the card plays. That's a pure guest-artist premium, and it's the same pattern Amano's Magic alt art drew in 2019: collectors paying for the artist's name, not the card's power level.
Saint Shamrock shows the same effect on a card with zero playing history. There's no prior printing to compare it to -- it's new to OP-18 -- but Bandai is apparently printing it two ways: a standard black Secret Rare at $99.99, and Amano's version at $1,999.99. A 20x spread on a card nobody has played a single game with yet is about as clean a reading of "guest art drives the price" as this hobby produces.
Sealed product tells a calmer story, and it's worth doing the math before preordering. At $24.95 a pack, 24 packs would run $598.80 bought individually. The box itself presales at $359.79 -- about $14.99 a pack, a real discount for buying sealed. The case is the odd one out: $4,499.50 across 12 boxes works out to $374.96 per box, slightly more than a single box's $359.79. Case pricing hasn't settled relative to single boxes yet, which is common this early in a presale window before enough trades have happened to pull the two in line.
Every number above is a presale snapshot more than a month before OP-18's November 20 street date, and the Amano alternate arts in particular are trading on a handful of listings with no market-price average available yet -- only a current low price. Treat $1,999.99 as what's listed right now, not a settled valuation; these two cards in particular could move sharply once real copies start shipping and pull rates become known.
